Supportive Services

The Supportive Services Program provides case management, financial assistance counseling, homeless prevention, and health education and testing. Case management for individuals can range from an assessment of strengths and needs to full support in attaining and maintaining the client’s goal of self-sufficiency.

Homeless prevention is provided to those who earn at or below 50% of area median income. We assess their homelessness risk and then work with each woman or family to determine goals to be set and financial assistance to be provided to help them maintain their housing. Assistance and support can range from a single occurrence to several months, depending on the needs of the household.

Health education and services are provided in a variety of ways. All women and families we serve who are homeless are encouraged to connect with Horizon Healthcare and are provided with a referral letter. Those who are not homeless are informed of services at the Open Door Clinic and the Wake County Human Services clinics.  HIV/STD testing is provided twice a month on site by Wake County Human Services.
