Our Services: Basic Needs

Basic Needs are those everyday requirements in life that so many of us take for granted such as:

Safe Shelter

The Women's Center provides shelter for homeless women and children during the day when other emergency shelters are normally closed.

Food

We provide hot lunches three days per week and emergency food from our pantry when other food resources are not available.

Clothing

The Clothes Closet provides hundreds of homeless women with coats, shoes and everyday clothing.  In addition, homeless and low-income women have access to appropriate business suits and clothing suitable for job interviews and work.

Personal Care Items

The Center supplies shampoo, deodorant, tampons and other toiletries for homeless women and their children.

Laundry Vouchers

Access to be able to wash and dry their clothing for homeless and low income women and children.

Emergency Food

The Women's Center provides non-perishable food for clients in need.  We have a small food pantry and participate in TEFAP (the emergency federal assistance program).  In addition, the Center provides food referrals to other local resources.

Lockers

The Women's Center offers lockers for our homeless clients to use to store their belongings.

Restroom

The Center provides a restroom during our operating hours for clients to use.

Breakfast

Muffins, fruit or pastries are provided every morning and lunch is provided two days per week.

Client Telephone

The Center provides a telephone dedicated to client use.
