The1977 Club - A Sustaining Donor Program

Founded in 1977, for more than 40 years, the Women’s Center of Wake County has been stalwart in its service to women in our community!  Through the years, the Center has responded to the changing needs of women given the changing economic realities of Wake County, expanding and providing services as indicated by the women in our community.  For the past fifteen  years, the Center has focused on addressing the growing issues of poverty and homelessness with single women, women with children and aging women.  The Board, staff and direct service volunteers have become strong advocates and service providers for those women who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless.

In celebration of the Wake County Women’s Center’s 40 years in service, we are launching a new way to get involved. The ‘77s is a group of individuals committed to our mission who are answering the call for support by contributing $19.77 each month to sustain the work of the WCWC.

Over the course of the year, 1 member of the ‘77s can provide 120 full days of transportation, 95 loads of laundry, or 66 hot meals for women and children experiencing homelessness.  In joining the ‘77s, you will secure critical resources a Wake County woman and her family.
