What is The Women’s Center Teen Leadership Board?
The Women’s Center Teen Leadership Board is a group of dedicated high school students who serve as ambassadors for the Women’s Center within their schools, families, and communities. Teen Board members play a vital role in supporting the Center by raising awareness and funds, volunteering their time, and advocating for women experiencing homelessness. Through their leadership and service, members make a meaningful impact on both The Women’s Center and the broader community.
What are the requirements?
The Teen Board meets monthly on Sunday afternoons (August through May) at the Women’s Center. These required meetings include guest speakers, project planning, and hands-on service activities. Members are expected to attend all meetings, with no more than two excused absences.
In addition to meeting attendance, each member is required to complete a minimum of 15 volunteer hours in service to The Women’s Center and actively contribute to awareness and outreach efforts in their schools and communities. Teen Board members are committed to creating meaningful change through leadership, service, and compassion.
